Since it first opened in 1938, the Half Moon Drive In has become a favourite Manitoba destination. A family drive along the Red River and a deluxe hot dog have become a tradition.
The spring of 1983 saw the old Half Moon close it's doors and a larger, more modern restaurant opened closer to the historic St. Andrews lock and dam. Since that time Half Moon has taken great care in maintaining the high standards that were developed from the original owners.
In addition to hot dogs, the Half Moon serves hamburgers, ice-cold Pepsi, homemade fries and both soft and hard ice cream. This menu, along with a unique atmosphere combine to create the perfect family venue.
With it's growth and popularity among people from every part of Canada, Half Moon Drive In is proud to be recognized as Canada's Best Hot Dog (Winnipeg Free Press, Today Magazine, June 27, 1981)
